NEWS Website offers border information
Visitors from more than 60 countries and territories have accessed a website dedicated to providing information about Viet Nam's territory and borders after a public launch yesterday, January 26.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and director of the National Border Committee Ho Xuan Son said: 'The website is an official information source on our country's territory and borders.'
Information and documents hosted on the website would reflect the Party and State's point of view and policies toward the country's territorial integrity.
Son expressed his hope that the website would help improve Vietnamese people's awareness about their homeland and expand co-operation and friendship with neighbouring countries.
'The website is an effective tool to reject false and groundless information about Viet Nam's territory and borders,' Son added.
The website was developed by the committee with a clear objective - to be accessible. Information was arranged into 10 main topics including news, events, legal, historical data, maps and a photo library.
Participants at the launch recommended that the site should be available in many foreign languages.
